Before the emerging of new types and classes of spaces, it is appropriate to develop a new methodology that enables its classification, and consequently its analysis and comparison. This workshop presents a methodology to compare with participants in the network if the proposed categories are adjusted to their experience and if this analysis is utility not only in terms of taxonomic or classification but also as a tool for transforming the modes of use and the management of the space.
The methodological proposal presents the study at four dimensions. 1. the physical, technical and architectural attributes; 2. the attributes of urban context; 3. the ownership and management models; 4.usage models. The next step concentrates on the analysis of products and service of spaces generated from the activities of the space. Finally, a model of impact analysis is proposed to classify them in economic, social, political, relational, cognitive and aesthetic dimensions.
The methodology proposes a questionnaire with a series of scales to rank each impact. This approach aims to develop possible tools to detect the vector of objectives of different space models, comparability and certain analysis of efficiency and effectiveness of its strategies.
